I used ArcGIS Pro to model suitable nesting habitat for the fictional “Clemson Tigerbird”. Using spatial tools including as buffer, clip, and intersect, I identified evergreen forests within the Saluda River Basin that were within 50 meters of a stream and more than 200 meters from roads. I applied spatial criteria to narrow down potential habitats, demonstrating how GIS can be used for ecological modeling and land use planning. The final product visualizes viable Tigerbird habitat zones, including total area calculations in square miles for biological assessment.
